Winning most races in Europe, the Pogo 2 has been since its first Mini Transat in 2003 the benchmark in the Production Mini world. With hundreds of Pogo2 in Europe, Pogo Structures, the French builder, and Open Sailing (U.S. builder of the Open 5.70 and importer of other Finot/Conq sportboats) decided to join their skills, expertise and experience to launch the production of the Pogo 2 in North America. The objective is to grow the Pogo2 fleet in the USA but also to provide a great little production mini available for U.S. sailors and beyond.

Since January 2010, Pogo Structures and Open Sailing have been working on the production details of the Pogo2. Open Sailing shipped the original molds to sunny Southern California with one unique goal: build an exact copy of the French built Pogo2 with the same quality and performance as the one made in France.

2006: 24h record

The 24h absolute record of the Classe Mini has been settled by Hervé Piveteau on his Pogo 2 “Jules”. He covered a distance of 259.4 miles in 24h at an average speed of 10.8 knots during the race “Les Sables d’Olonne-Les Açores- Les Sables d’Olonne”.

2005: 6.50 Transat: double shot

The 20005 6.50 Transat shows once more the speed qualities and the reliability of the Pogo 2. It is the Belgium Peter Laureyssens who won with his Pogo 2 before Bruno Sottovia on another Pogo 2. On the 10 first production boats 9 were Pogos.

Moreover, all the 11 Pogos which were on the starting line at La Rochelle, arrived at Bahia. It proves the good reliability of these boats.

A treat for the senses...

After 15 years of experience in the construction of mini 6.50, Structures is proud to present the next generation of the 6.50 mini. In close colaboration with the Groupe Finot we have conceived a model to succeed the legendary POGO. The Pogo 2 can already be deemed a worthy succesor due to the fact that three Pogo 2 finished in the top three places of the 2003 Transat 6.50.

To achieve the best performance and keep weight to a minimum we have used highly performant materials combined with state of the art fabrication processes which allow us to fabricate the decks in a vacuum sealed environment and guarantee firm compacting of the glass fabric.

The stability, speed and security that the Pogo 2 affords are characteristics that are necessary for offshore racing but also allow for an enjoyable, emotion filled sailing experience.
